Well it's a bit cold most everywhere right now Huites included. In a recent conversation with our head guide George he stated the lake was at about 80% capacity and that he was catchign a few fish but he felt that the best fishing was still a few weeks off. Yesterdays low at the lake was 32 degrees which is quite cold! Personally speaking I do not like to fish at Huites when it's that cold as it's such a high mountain lake. I feel we are setting up for a good year as the lake is clearing up now from the early winter rains which have left the lake at it's current level. For those of you that got to fish the lake in October and November you had a treat. For those of you that have fished it between December and now you've had a bit of bad and good luck as the sudden water rise left a lot of debris in the water and the lake quite stained. But warming water in the spring moves bass shallow to spawn and that's what should happen as January gives way to February and March! If your planning on going to Huites this spring or next fall E-mail me back with the timeframe and we can discuss it or call me at 210-573-7057!
